We were engaged to devise and implement a new strategy which would turnaround their fortunes and deliver growth and profitability.

Environmental Remidation

Years of poor environmental practice in South Sudan's oil fields created  an ecological disaster with old oil wells polluting the water supplies and contaminating the land. The Client, a new Oil Filed Serices company required both Consultancy and assistance in raising finance to undertake the remidiation.

Nigeria's moribund mega Steel complex required both rehabilitation and an Operator to run the lightsteel rolling mill. The Client a Ukrainian firm engage Synterra to Advise it on the transaction and conduct the complex and delicate negotiations

An AIM listed junior mining company acquired coal  mining leases in Nigeria and sought additional finance and a local partner to begin mining operations. We were engaged to raise project finance for the venture and identify a suitable local partner for a Joint venture. We subsequently arranged the sale of the asset. 

E&P Finance: Oil Mining Lease

Funding exploration and production of oil and gas assets in emerging markets is a complex process especially when considering in-country risk and the transition to a low carbon economy. Through an innovative mixture of project finance, pre-export finance and reserve based lending, Synterra were able to obtain sufficient finance to meet the Clients obligations and secure the oil mining lease.

Junior Mining Company Re-Finance: Emerging Market

Rushington Mineral Mining an AIM listed junior mining company operating in a politically and economically volatile region in Africa. Despite having significant untapped mineral reserves, RMM faced considerable challenges including a stifling debt burden and the need for substantial project financing to advance to production. I was engaged to both create and implement a strategy solution.

Outcome:

The debt was re-financed over at a lower rate and a Pre-Export Finance (PXE) agreement was structured as a source of working capital. Tax exemptions and pioneer status for the Client was obtained and  local counterpart funding raised.
